Pool Time

Josh has had to work the last 2 nights. So during the day him and Melody have been playing. Melody asked if she could go swimming in her shark pool. I was working and thought, "I wonder how hot it is outside?!" When I went outside this is what I found.

Tapping

I found these tap shoes and Ballet Outfit at Kids2Kids over the weekend... There must have been some magic in that old black shoes we found, For when we put it on her feet she began to dance around... It was hilarious! I never knew she knew how to move like that. It must have been "So you think You can dance" Show that I have been watching.

Sticker Chart

We have a bedtime routine for Melody...Brush teeth, potty, read a book, pray then hugs and kisses. Once we are done we leave and don't come back...yeah right! This summer we have had alot of actives. So we haven't been watching the clock at bed time, Melody started wanting ME to pick her up and put her on the pot at potty time AND brush her teeth, Then she would call out a million times for us at bedtime...Mom I need more water, Daddy I need another hug{this one works really well} Where is my barbie book, I need my Ariel doll...Then she cries and cries and cries...So annoying!

Well Josh came up with a "Sticker Chart" There is a place for Making her bed, cleaning her room/playroom, brush teeth by herself, potty by herself, put clothes in the hamper and No crying at bedtime.

Some light came down from heaven and I swear this little chickie is on a sticker quest! She loves it. She is doing an amazing job.

When all the spots are full she gets to go to Chick Fil A. She had been talking about the "Chick Fil A outing" almost every day.( Being as prego as I am it has been hard not to give in to the temptation just to go there...but I'm strong and I will survive)

Well I just thought this may be a little helpful to anyone going through the same thing. Helpin out a sister...or brother.

Baby Luke

I went to the Doctor's yesterday for my normal weekly appointment. Doc said all looks good. I'm not dilated (no surprise!) My cervix has shorten and I'm effaced about 70%. On Sunday I will be considered full term. I would love for him to come into this world early, I'm huge and uncomfortable, BUT I must be patient. I think it must be comfortable inside. Melody was late, I had to get induced on the 12th day...I was done. This time I think if Luke isn't here by his due date September 16, I want to be induce the next day! Well see...

I'm hungry...again.

Daddy's Salon

One of the gifts Melody got for her birthday was a doll beauty station. She LOVES it. Josh helped her put the rollers in her hair...too cute.

Melody's B-Day Party

Melody had all of her friends over for her Ariel Birthday Party.
I had a great time coming up with food and games. Kim made
some blue chains for me, so I created an under the sea theme
in the living room. Thank goodness the Franks, Swearinger's and my brother and sister in law, they all came early. They set up the back yard. Josh had to work and didn't get home til an hour before the festivities started. My brother created a water wonderland with 2 pools,2 slip in slides. While Melody opened all her great gifts the kid's ate my "sea" jello. It was blue jello with Swedish gold fish in them, topped with white foam {whip cream} and a gummy worm :all in these cute little sand buckets. I had several games planned but all the kids were preoccupied with the outside water park. All the kids got a sand bucket with their names on it with some goodies in it.
For the food: Everyone really like the Summer Chicken Salad. I will have to post the recipe. Mini pizza,PBJ sandwiches,Potato and Pasta salad,Chips,Pigs in blankets and mini pizza. You think that would have been enough!? Well I ran out of food. I have never had a party without leftovers... crazy kids!
It was a great day. At the end of day my feet hurt so bad. Josh gave them a rub down I cried because it hurt so good, I think that is a song.

Josh "On Line Class"

Melody and Madison

Here is Melody and her friend Madison. Look out world!

Friend Baby Shower

What wonderful Friends I have!
Kimberly had a WONDERFUL shower for me at her house. She decorated it like I have never seen a place decorated before. Luke's room is in Jungle Theme, Kimberly created an awesome Jungle in her living room.

We played several games. The first was
"Remember" the labour story. We went
around the room and shared labour stories. I think
I would pick Shannon's labour ...went VERY fast! It was
great listening and watching everyone reflect on the
fun of childbirth.

Then we played the string game, where everyone
guess how large my belly was. Some people
were not very nice:) Jessica, another fellow prego
friend was the winner.

The best game was
"What Candy is in
the diaper". Some looked
pretty gross{I had
to post the picture of one}
I didn't get any right.

The food was awesome!Chick Fil A! Yum Yum

Melody had a great time helping me open the gifts, she even got several "Big Sister" gifts..I tell ya wonderful people!

The picture above is Kimberly and Me. I think she is thinking"I hope I have enough string to go around that big belly!"

Dress Up

I found several Disney Dresses on Ebay. She LOVES to dress up. That is what mommy and daddy got her for her birthday. Then one of the gifts she got from her Auntie Janna was a Barbie Cheer leading outfit with pom-poms that have lights on it! PLUS her Grandma Gerving got her costume necklace, ring and brackets. She tried on every outfit several times and accessorized as she went. What fun to be a little girl!

Melody's B-day continues

After the mall she wanted to go to the Car Wash! I did really need a wash it, so I was like SURE. Then we had to go to Wal-Mart to pick out a cake. It was a tough decision but she did a great job. After a nap(No this was not on her itinerary, but very necessary)We had dinner, then blew out candles on the cake. Then her favorite part...presents.

Melody's B-day Part One

Melody turned 3 years old today. She got to come up with the game plan of the day. Her first big decision was her outfit. She is wearing a Melody original!
She had to have a "Beautiful Dress"
That is a must. Next she layer her outfit
with a purple skirt. She found
two socks that had some
similar features but were
not the same. Then off to her first
destination, with white sandals, The
Mall, so she could ride the horses(Merry Go Round)

Off to the candy store was next. She was able to pick out 10 pieces
of candy...pure satisfaction on her face. A quick glance in the
Disney Store, then it was time for Chick Fillet.

Church Baby Shower

What an awesome group of lady's at my church! I had a wonderful baby shower on Saturday. I feel very blessed to have so many church family members love us! They spoiled Luke. He is going to look so cute in the outfits. Plus I got lots of huggies and breastfeeding goodies. THANK YOU!

Update on Luke

I went to see my regular OB on Tuesday last week. She said everything looked great.

One funny side story here is...Melody goes with me to the Doctors appointment. It is a way for her to get involved. I have to pee in a cup every appointment. Ever since the first visit Melody thinks that she too has to pee in the cup. She is actual pretty good at it!

Back to Luke... Just as I think that the doctor appointment is over, my Dr states that there is an order to have stress test TWICE a week starting that day! I was floored, the silly 5th disease strikes again! So for 20 minutes I lied on the table listen to Luke's heart and pressing a button every time I felt him move. It was kind of neat. Then Thursday came, back to the doctor for the test. 10 minute drive, 15 minute wait, and a 20 minute test...which causes heart burn due to the fact that I'm laying down. This time I started to feel cranky!

Friday was the Neonatologist appointments. It had been two weeks since I saw him last. I asked him (Dr Weiss) previously if I could go every other week since everything was looking good; its a 45 minute drive into Dallas, pay for parking, the sonogram co-pay is $68.50!, that could buy alot of huggies! He said that was fine-Well he said that the stress test are not needed. I was VERY excited to hear that.

About Luke, He is about 5lb 13oz on Friday. His head is down. Best of all, he is healthy! 5 more weeks to go! I cant wait to hold him.

Vacation Bible School

We made it through VBS. This was Josh's first time helping out. He did such a great job. The kiddo's loved him. Melody also had a blast. She loved singing. The pictures above are the last day. They had a bounce house, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn and nachos...A prego chicks dream!

Wood Weekend

Josh went to high school withMike. Mike has a brother, Shane. Shane's wife Danna is having a baby at the end of the month, they we're having a couples baby-shower..Which means...Road trip.. to Jefferson Texas ( about 2 1/2 hours East of us). We had a very relaxing time.

Josh started working 4-10 hour days. Now he has Friday's off. So Friday we got up and started on our trip. Melody was so excited to go to the hotel. We drove straight to the golf coarse, down the street from Mike and Jamie's house, dropped off Josh.Melody and I went to check out our one star hotel. Jefferson is a VERY small town. It has beautiful historical buildings and Bed and breakfast's. But I don't think it would be much fun staying in a B&B with Melody, or it wouldn't be fun for others in the B&B! When we got to the Inn of Jefferson I was pretty surprise. The rooms were pretty cool. It had a little sitting area, microwave, refrigerator and a huge King size bed. Looked great! Plus we got Military Discount! In the morning they had a wonderful free breakfast.
The baby shower was nice, Danna got lots, it's their first so they need lots! Josh was able to golf 3 time that weekend and Melody was able to swim twice. Mike's parents are very nice people and always make us feel so welcome there. It was great to chat with Jamie. It's fun not to be on a schedule..or HAVE to be somewhere! Good Times Once again in East Texas.

Christopher and Melody

Cousin Christopher came to spend a couple of nights with Nana. Him and Melody play so well together. Melody has this Elmo thing-ee (most of her toys turn into "thing-ee's") that has a door bell sound in it.So Melody and Christopher had a blast teasing Nana that the door bell was ringing several times during his stay! Crazy Grandkids!
