Lightning...Very Very Frightening

Monday night a huge storm rolled across the DFW area (aka Dallas Forth Worth...for all ya'll Californians). It didn't look to bad in our area, it was pretty much south of of us...Then the blog story begins...

Now I have never seen such crazy weather in all my life as I have here in Texas. No One has a clue what it is like until you experience the roar, POURing rain, and the lighted up sky. The first storm we had when we moved out here, I pee'ed my pants. The thunder was incredible, never heard of such a sound. My mom went into her closet, she just knew a tornado was coming.

Well since the first storm we got us a weather radio, Josh has become a Meteorologist and we are "starting" to feel more comfortable with the storms. Its actual has become amazing to see and hear...BUT Monday night we went to sleep about 10:45..about 11:15 we hear the LOUDEST bomb EVER!! Our house got struck my lightning!

Here is the stuff it fried...all the night lights plug in, baby monitor,DSL modem, my cool clock that projects the time on the ceiling, a GFI was blown:which Josh has to replace several outlets in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom, our garage door opener, and our Direct TV receivers blew!!

CRAZY! I'm sooo Thankful God directed the bolt to the ground and that our kiddo's are safe...they didn't even wake up!!

WOW! Huh?!

Downward Dog

Luke is so into Yoga, he loves the downward dog pose. I have been trying to get a good picture, it is hilarious to watch him, so far this is the best picture. He pushes his body up in the air and is resting on his hand and toes. He thinks he is funny. He is!

Story time

On Wednesdays Melody and Luke go to story time at the Van Alstyne Library (about 6 miles from the house.) It is wonderful!! When we arrive the kids have a color sheet with what the topic is going to be about for the day. Then Mrs Barbara, the librarian, does a lovely job reading a story to the kids. After story time, there is a craft for the kids to do. It's a great program and its free! Plus there is an area for 2 and under, Luke's class, where Mrs Amy plays music and sings to the children then reads a book. Luke really pays attentions. Amy has one of those high pitch voices, the kind where Luke just stares.
Below is Kayla and Melody. What good listeners.
Mrs Barbara showing them how to drive a truck.
Here is Craft time. They put stickers of trucks on their road page. Melody made a "Crash" on hers. (She watches too much news!)
This is Mrs Amy and here little one Allie. I missed taking pictures of Melody on the fire truck, bad mommy.

Little People Time

Melody introduced Luke to "The Little People". He loves playing the role of Godzilla and trying to eat them.

Easter Day

On Easter we got the kiddo's dressed in their Sunday best and went to church. After the service the church had an egg hunt.
It was very cold, but Melody had a great time.
Little Man Luke
We went to mom's for dinner and the other half of the family showed up. Mom had an egg hunt for the kiddo's and for the big "Kids" I was bummed I didn't get the main prize. Mom hid $20 in an egg. David, Monica, Josh nor I was able to find the egg. She placed it in the recliner...pretty sneaky, if you ask me! We all had a wonderful time. Boy, it is hard to get 4 kids to take a picture together, soon it is going to be harder! Monica is prego with twin boys!! Congrats sis!
