WHAT!!!

So I was thinking that I was going to take a picture of Melody with a cotton ball in her ear. BUT...

Then the black eye happen. I swear our insurance company is loving us. Let me just re-cap!

About 6 weeks ago I came down with 5th Disease. Like everyone I'm sure you are a saying What the heck is that. I guess its kind of like chicken pops.{ I know pox, but since I was little that is what I called it}It's a Parvo Virus. In children it's really no big deal. They may run a small fever then they show up with a rash on their face several days later. By the time they have the rash they are not contagious SO in the meantime they are spreading the virus for several days. If you look close in the picture of Melody and Nana in the hotel {the pear post}you can see Melody's rosey rashy face. Melody was fine...BUT...

Because I am prego having the 5th disease can be very bad to unborn babies. The virus attacks the bone marrow and cause extreme anemia. The risk is higher for those that are 20 weeks and under. Thank God that that I was around 25 weeks and so far so good, Luke has not been effected.

I was referred to a perinatal specialist and have to have weekly sonograms. We have had 4 so far that show healthy non-effected Luke. Please pray for continuing healthy appointments.

OK OK back to the ear...

Melody had a low grade fever off and on the last couple of days, but she NEVER slowed down so I never thought anything was wrong [like having the 5th dz]. When she woke up on Sunday she said her ear hurt. She only said it twice, Josh said we are taking her to Acute Kids[which is a FABULOUS urgent care for kids] now! Josh had several ear infection growing up. I was like what,no biggie let me give her a little Tylenol. We had to wait a while for the the place to open. Once again Melody was bouncing off the walls like nothing was wrong but we took her. Sure enough the doctor came in looked in her ear and said she had a middle ear infection...then the prego hormones kicked in..I cried.

Then the eye. Melody was playing with daddy out side. She pushed her swing. It came back and hit her above her eye. Poor thing...

First ear infection and first black eye within days of each other.

Does anyone have a bubble we can put Melody in until shes about 20?

Reception/BBQ

On Saturday night we had some neighbors over for a BBQ. Melody informed us that her and Warren got married. She used some bracelet as the"ring". Warren said she kissed him. She is a nut! Look how close Warren is setting next to her. I guess now that she is married Warrens family will have to put her through college! The kiddo's around the table are Will,McKenna, Isabella, Warren and Melody.

We had a great time. We even saw fire flies! I haven't seen those since I was a kid.

Good Times,Good Times.

Crepe Myrtles

I think crepe myrtles is the Texas tree. They are everywhere. Very pretty. My brothers neighborhood had 8 of them outside his house still in their buckets for almost 2 years. He sold them to us for $150, which we thought was a pretty good price. It has certainly has brighten our yard up. Melody enjoys knocking the flowers off, she insist it helps them to grow. She gets that from Nana picking the dead flowers and leaf off of her plants.

The 8th Month

Well here it is the Belly shot. I'm almost 32 weeks. Melody is very excited. My bellybutton is the "Microphone". She sings every morning to him. Besides heartburn, back pain, uncomfortableness, and ligament pains...all is wonderful! I must say my pregnancy with Melody was alot easier. I cant wait to meet this little guy.

Melody's Big Girl Bedroom

I finished a project! (Well I still need curtains and a bedskirt) We have almost been in our house 2 years and I finally did Melody's room. I even made those pictures out of canvis, I felt very Martha.

We wanted Melody to feel like a Princess before we started on Lukes room. We needed several pieces of Melody's furniture for Lukes room and didnt want to feel like we were talking anything away from her. One was the rocker...

She loves the disney world of princesses. Ariel is her favorite. She has been working on the Ariel "AHHAHHAA "Song.

She has turned her bed into climb, jump zone. I keep telling her,"No more Melody's jumping on the bed". At night she looks so small in a Queen size bed! She is a major "reader" When we check on her before we go bed she has fallen asleep in a sea of books. Its very funny.

Big Girl

I can't believe that Melody isn't even 3 yet. She has grown up so fast. She is very excited about baby Luke and can't wait to be the "Big Sister".

Bike Rider

This is one of Melody's favorite thing to do. It is so funny to watch her, her little legs are so fast. We live on a great street, there are several families with small children, those that don't have little ones, know all the little ones. We let Melody rider her bike in the street. Her friends Branden and Brooklyn join her alot during her nightly bike Ride! It helps her go to bed alittle faster.

Josh's 33rd B-day

Josh turned 33 on July 16th. I made his favorite dinner, lasagna. Melody and I baked a chocolate cake. Later that night we had some friends over to help celebrate.

Stitches Again

Well here we ago again! Miss Melody loves playing in the car. We were unpacking from our San Antonio trip...then it happened! The cry was terrible, the scream even worse. Melody shut her thumb in the car door. Josh had to open the car door. We rushed her to the ER, waited 4 hours, she received 4 stitches. She was such a big girl.

This weekend we drove to San Antonio for my dear friend's wedding, Michelle. Melody loves staying in the hotel. She takes over the phone and takes"messages" from all the phone calls we get. [I have learned to unplug one of the phones in the room so Melody can play "Message Taker"] She had her Secretary Nana to help her out!

Michelle asked me to be the Matron of Honor, in March. I was very excited then I realized..me in bridesmaids dress...7 months prego..color sage...Oh My...Here comes a Pear! Josh tried to take pictures of me and the wedding. Unfortunately he has never figured out how to work the camera...that's why I never have pictures of me! Anyway all the wedding pictures turned out blurry. Mom took a family picture of us. Guess Melody is acting like her crazy-no-nap yet and it's 5:00..self!
