Home Sweet Home

I found this awesome "Baby Moses Basket" It works great! When he takes naps I just tote him around in it. He also sleeps in it at night. We lay him in bed with us, since I was sliced open it helps not having to get out of the bed to feed him and we both don't have to worry about rolling over on him.

Melody LOVES her baby brother, sometimes a little too much! She is very proud to have a brother, she dressed up to welcome him home.

Hospital Stories

Our friends from the neighborhood, [Kim,Jarrod,Wyatt,Isabella and Waren] came to visit us in the hospital. The hospital made us a real nice steak dinner with mashed potato's and yummy dessert. The hospital also gave me a cool gift basket.
Monica,David, Christopher and Nana. We are watching the video Monica took during and after delivery. Monica did such a great job.
Ahhh feeling sunshine for the first time.
Sunday morning football watching. The hospital had a rolla bed for Josh.

Funny Story

I didn't bring any baby mittens to the hospital, and Luke scratched his little cheekers SO I used some socks. As I was lying in my bed staring at the bottom where Luke's rolla-crib was I saw this sock rise to Luke's face. Now I was on some pain-killers But for a second I thought our child was doing some high kicks with his legs. I thought it was hilarious.

Labor and Delivery

Here is our room at the hospital. I started having contractions around 1:30am on the 20th. We checked into the hospital at 5:30am. I was having contractions about 5 minutes apart. When my doctor came in about 7:30am she check me and I was only dilated to a 2 BUT since I was in labor she said, "Let's go for the Vbac!" The Epidural line was place in me during the morning hour but because epidurals may slow or stop labor I didn't get my dose until the afternoon. I did get some Good stuff to help me in the mean time.
Around 1:30pm Luke's heart rate dropped. It scared us BIG time, this is the same thing that happened with Melody. The nurse was in my room, we changed positions. The heart rate went back to normal UNTIL around 3:45. The doctor came in and showed us several "dips" where Luke's heart rate dropped again. So I was wheeled in to the Operating Room for an ER C-Section. It went very fast. I did vomit on the OR floor! I asked for something and one of the Dr's in there said,"Just a Second" Whatever!
Luke was born at 4:19pm 8lb8oz. He came out perfect!

9/16/07

Luke has 5 1/2 hours to get here, or he's late! I though I was in labor on Friday. We watched movies on the couch. Josh always falls asleep. I was having lots of contractions for about 3 hours. They were 10,7,4 then 8 minutes apart. I was getting very tired it was about 12:30am. I was very excited when I keep looking at the watch, but knew it wasn't very consistent...yet.

I woke up Josh and told him I was having several contractions...Josh gets up all fast and says, "Oh my If your going into Labor I need to get some sleep." Then he heads up to stairs. He was in a fog. It was pretty funny. I was like...OK you better get YOUR rest, wouldn't want you to be tired!

Well as soon as I got up the contractions stopped. Bummer.

Update

I was so excited when the calendar changed to September. Luke will be here this month!! Although last week after my 37th week appointment I had "THE prego meltdown". I was hecka tired , I haven't been sleeping very good. When my Doctor came in the first thing she said was we need to schedule you for a C-Section. I was like, "WHAT" !

Here is the reason for a C-section: Because I had one with Melody they will NOT induce me because for the intensity of the contractions, since my uterus has already been cut the risk for breakage increases.

The nurse came in and gave me several dates to choose from, I chose the latest possible. Which the nurse said I was the first to choose the latest possible date;September 24th (8 days pass my due date). On that day they will check me to see if I have dilated to a 3 or more. IF I have dilated to a 3 or more, they will pop my water and see if I go into labor. I was dilated to a 1 with Melody at 42 weeks, so I was super bummed PLUS Dr checked me out and I was closed like a clam.

When Josh got home I lost it. I cried and cried... My "To Do" list is still long, I NEED a hair cut, heck I haven't even started on Luke's room, I'm uncomfortable...

Well here it is a week later. I am feeling MUCH better. I have been able to get some sleep. I painted and decorated Luke's room, once I put the curtains up I will post a picture. I chopped my hair off! Once I color it I will post a picture! At my 38th appointment today I was dilated to a 1! Soooo this week has been good!

It's funny to think that God already knows the day that Luke will be born and how he will make his enterance. I just need to be patient!
