SANTA!!

We went to the mall today and got "The Santa Picture". I can't believe Melody smiled. This is the first year she didn't cry. I thought we were going to get a picture with 2 crying children. We practiced all the way to the mall, show me your smile. Melody would reply "I don't want too" "I don't even know him" But she did it!!So here is the official...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

christmas tree

We put up our tree about 2 weeks ago. I think Christmas tree picking makes me miss California the most. We use to go and chop a tree down every year, some how picking one out at Walmart doesn't have the same effect! We did find a nice one, I put the lights on and then realized that I must go shopping after Christmas and get some more decorations. Every day my mom tells me "You need more bulbs, ornaments, tinsel" She makes me laugh and I'm to frugal to buy stuff now!
Melody had a good time putting up a couple ornaments, but had more fun playing with the Angel ornament. She has a HUGE imaginations! Luke just sat there looking cute.

Dr Visits

We took the kiddo's for their check ups on the 6th of December. Luke had his 2 month and Melody had her 3 year check up. The both had to get shots. I was so glad that the pediatricians office is open for late appointments, Josh was able to come. Which was WONDERFUL! Here were their stats...

Luke: weight 15 lbs (over the 95%) length : 25 1/2 inches (over the 95%)
Melody: weight 35 lbs length : 40 inches

Good Healthy Children. Thank you God!!!

Play Day

Melody's Girls

Melody loves playing with "Her girls" They are Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. She spends many hours playing and talking to them. At bed time we find her talking to them HOURS after putting her to bed, not to sure what to do about that!

P.S. She is SOOOOO into wear dresses...several times through out the day she changes into a different dress. Yes, this causes LOTS of laundry.

FIRE

This was the first fire of the season. We were pretty excited THEN the house felt like it was getting smoke-y. We started freakin that we were going to die of carbon monoxide poisoning, SO we camped out at mom's house that night and opened all the windows in ours. In the morning the house read 46 degrees! We had birdies on top of the chimney during the summer, so we thought they built a house up there and was blocking the smoke. Josh went on the roof over the weekend, nothing up there. But we did buy Carbon Monoxide Detectors.
Luke wasn't as excited as Melody. She was singing "The Fire Song". Pretty much what ever is going on...she has a song to go along with it...a LOUD one!

now a lay me

whale of a day

I can't believe that is December. The year has flown by! I have several cute pictures to post, I'll try and get them up this week. Luke got this cute outfit from our dear friends, the Parkers. They have a son Jonah and HAD to get this whale outfit. TOO cute. There is a little scratch above his little eye. I cant believe how fast his finger nails grows. I think when Melody was about 7 months old she started biting her finger and toe nails. To this day I don't have to trim them.

ThanksGiving Day

What a wonderful holiday. We have SO much to be thankful for! Josh's ma and pa came from California. It was a wonderful visit. David and Monica came with the kids, Jack and Christopher. Then there was Mom, Josh,Luke, Melody and me. Josh made a top to put on the pool table so we could have a BIG table. It worked out great. Here is all the party people.
The table was a little high for Melody.
Here are the wild Indians that hunted down the wild turkey.
The Turkey survivied.

Melody helped stuffed the turkey. What cuties.
Josh bought a turkey fryer. He though it would be fun to fry the turkey dinner. We decided that I would do the big turkey and he would try the fryer on a smaller turkey. First we bought the fryer at Target for $40. The next time I went to Walmart I saw the the peanut oil was $25. So far with the turkey this thing was going to cost us $75. Then I saw an ad in the Target advertisement where I thought it said there was the same fryer plus the peanut oil and injector and injection juice for $30. Josh returned the first fryer, when to the self and discovered the fryer was on sell for $30 but the package of supplies was another $30. Now the price of turkey is $70, saved $5. When Josh got home to put the fryer together we found out that you need a propane tank..another $30! Since it was Thanksgiving eve, we called our good friends, Kim and Jarrod, thankfully we were able to borrow there tank.

The turkey was great, the process went well. I kind of hoping for a little spark, makes great pictures!

Baby Einstein

I let Luke watch Baby Einstein while I was getting stuff ready for Thanksgiving. I had the video one teaching about body parts, it's for ages 9 months and up...He is so advance :)Heehee Anyway I heard a laugh, Melody was hanging out watching it to. So sweet, their first movie together. Here is where they are learning about the nose.
Here is my nose.

Grandma Time

Grandma has the magic touch.

Too Cool Dude

Sometimes moms just have to buy stuff that is too cute...

"The Cake"

Janene and I went to CostCo on Saturday. Both of the kiddo's were sleeping in the car, so Janene ran in to pick up some steaks. While she was in there she called me and asked about dessert for Thanksgiving. I told her that it was taken care of, then she asked about dessert for that night. Sure! I'm up for dessert. Then she came out with the largest chocolate cake I have ever seen. I had to put a toothpick in the picture to show the size, but it still doesn't do the cake justice. When I actually picked up the cake, it must have weighted at least 10 pounds. I do know where 3 of those pounds are today!

Melody enjoyed the cake too!

Golf Day

Josh and Ed went golfing on Saturday and Sunday. Josh beat his day twice, PLUS he got and Eagle. Good times.

Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Gerving came from California for Thanksgiving. Grandma brought lots of goodies for the little ones. Melody love the princess crown and earrings. We had a great time visiting with them.

halloween

Melody had a blast trickORtreatin. We went with a "pack" of friends from the hood. Here is a picture with her friend Kayla. They were great Halloween buddies. Melody is a Monkey. Melody is doing the pre trickORtreat dance while she is getting ready to go out.

Luke also was a Monkey.

I think this is such a funny picture. I asked Melody to get next to Luke so I could take their picture...
Here is the shot seconds later, Notice Melody not as happy...either is Luke. Guess he wasnt so excited to have a Monkey on his face.
