2 Week Follow UP
On 10/4/07 Josh and I took Luke in for his 2 week check up. He was 9lb 7oz. Grew 1/2 inch to 21 inches.
Well two nights before his appointment, we were thinking something was wrong. Luke had a terrible time passing gas! The poor little thing crys and gets all red in the face. It happens at different times of the day and night. We told the doctor ...she used the "C" word. We were both very bummed about it.
The weekend came so did the tears from both Luke and I. On Monday I called the doctor and wanted to come in and get a refund, my baby was defected. Well we saw the PA, she ordered an Ultrasound and said it could be gastric reflex and gave us samples of Prevacid. He then weighed 10lb 2oz.
The next day we got the ultrasound. On Wednesday the PA called and said everything was fine. We started the prevacid that night, she said it would take 3-5 days to work. On day 3, He began to become a keeper. We are not sure if his belly is just adjusting to the outside world Or if the medication started to work Or if God granted me this prayer! But praise God it's not colic and to those who have experienced colic my heart goes out to you. Luke would cry about 10-15 minutes but sometimes it felt like hours!

Halloween Phantom
We woke up one morning and found this fun basket of Halloween goodies. The basket had fun things for making cookies,a book, socks for Melody and hat and mittens for Luke. It came with a letter that said that the Halloween Phantom stopped by. Now I had to return the favor. I had to leave a "goodie basket" outside one of our neighbors or "Beware of the Halloween Phantom's wrath". We also had to place a sign on our door that states that we were visited by the phantoms, so others wouldn't give again. I just came back from a walk around the block, it's funny seeing all the houses that have been "boo-ed".
The Circus Comes to town
So the circus came to Anna. I thought it was a joke when I first heard there was going to be a circus here(small town). My mom asked Melody if she wanted to go, SO Melody was very excited, so we went. It was pretty cool, kind of cheese-ee, kind of creepy. They had several acts, elephants, pony rides, cotton candy and snow cones. Thank goodness for the snow cones, it was SOO hot in the "Big tent". Melody had a great time on the pony ride. Her smile was worth the $11 per person admission fee($8 for kids). I know elephant food must eat ALOT, but I was surprised by the cost. This would be a great credit card commercial ...$30 admission fee...$4 cotton candy...$2 snow cone...$3 pony ride...Smile on your daughters face... priceless.
